I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure
As a family, we are participating in the Walk for A Cure to raise vital funds for a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts. Sadly, our amazing Grandad is currently living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Watching someone you love face this disease is incredibly tough, but it has also inspired our family to step up and try to make a real difference by taking part in the walk together.
Alzheimer’s doesn't just affect the person diagnosed—it impacts the whole family, especially our rock, our Gran Betty. Gran has cared for Grandad up until recently when he went into full-time care, not only for his safety and wellbeing but for that of Gran. Thankfully Grandad is so settled in his new environment, thank you to the amazing carers, it has been the best decision for everyone.
By taking part in this walk, we want to honour my Grandad’s strength, raise awareness, and fund the crucial research and support services that families like mine rely on every single day.
