Fundraising
Is there a fundraising target for this event?
The fundraising target for the 5km walks is £150, and for the longer distance walks, it is £250. But this doesn't mean you have to stop there. You can increase your target on your page and raise as much as you can!
Every penny you raise brings us closer to a cure.
How do I set-up a fundraising page?
Your fundraising page will automatically be set-up when you register for Walk For A Cure. You will receive an email with a URL link to your unique fundraising page and further information on how to customise and make the most of your page.
Can I self-donate to Walk For A Cure?
You certainly can! We always encourage your first donation on your page to be a self-donation as we have found that your loved ones are more likely to donate if fundraising has already begun. There is no limit on how much you wish to donate and you can do so either on your page or offline.
How can I donate my offline donations?
If you have any cash donations you wish to donate towards your minimum fundraising target, please visit our website for further information.
What do I do if I am having trouble with my fundraising page?
If you are having any problems with your online fundraising page, please contact walkforacure@alzheimersresearchuk.org
Someone meant to donate to my page, but accidentally used the main 'Donate' button on the homepage instead. Can you move the donation to my page?
Yes! Please send us the full name of the person making the donation and we will be able to re-assign the donation to show on your page. You can send this to walkforacure@alzheimersresearchuk.org
Someone donated to my page but it isn't showing, can you help?
Donations may take a little while to show up on your page, please wait 24 hours to see if the donation shows before you contact us. If your donation still isn't showing after this time, please contact walkforacure@alzheimersresearchuk.org.
I would like some fundraising materials for my event, where can I find these?
We would love to support you with your fundraising in any way we can. If you’re planning on hosting a fundraising event or would just like some ideas to try and kickstart your donations, please visit our website.
What happens if I don't hit the minimum sponsorship requirement?
We have set our minimum sponsorships requirements to make sure we cover the cost of the event and continue to fundraise towards a cure for dementia.
We kindly ask that you fundraise as close to this target as possible and every penny that you raise over this target will be going towards research. We have lots of fundraising resources to help you with your fundraising here.
