Route
This stunning 5km loop takes you through Poole Park's parkland areas, past a saltwater lagoon and beautiful boating lakes. Then past the adjacent Baiter Park and along the Poole Harbour trail with panoramic views across the harbour. All before you cross the finish line to claim your well-deserved medal.

Accessibility
The fully signposted route is mostly on hardstanding path with a small section on grass. The route is accessible for both wheelchairs and pushchairs with assistance. Please note this route passes by large bodies of water which may be unsuitable for some participants.
There will be volunteer marshals along the route to support you if needed.

Dogs
Dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead at all times.

Facilities
There are event toilets available next to the event village (including accessible loos).
Food and drink will be available to purchase within the event village and you are welcome to bring your own refreshments

How to get here
Poole Railway Station is approximately one mile from Poole Park (typically a 20 minute walk). The park is also serviced by multiple bus lines.
There is parking available within both Poole Park and the adjacent Baiter Park. There are also plenty of carparks within Poole itself. Please note that the small Copse carpark adjacent to the start will be used for event organisers only.

It was great to take part in the Walk For A Cure event and see so many people coming together determined to make their contribution to finding a cure for dementia. Participants included people living with a dementia, their carers and people, like me, remembering loved ones who had died with dementia. It was inspirational to see so many traveling many miles to raise money to fund such essential research.
- John Hirst, walking in memory of his beloved wife, Pat
- Barry Gray, who is living with dementia
- Jacky Schloss, walking in honour of her parents who have both been impacted by dementia.
- Dr Helen Beaumont, a dementia researcher, walking in memory of her husband, Clive
