Walk For A Cure - Worcestershire

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure because I want to help end the devastation of dementia.

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to finding a cure.

Research is our only chance of stopping dementia in its tracks and offering hope to the many families affected.

Your donation will fuel cutting-edge research that could uncover new life-changing treatments, bringing us closer to a cure.

Thank you for your support.

Why we are taking part

Friday 8th May
The Long Goodbye
Dementia is a thief. It didn't take my dad all at once, but rather piece by piece.
  • It started with small things: forgotten names, repeated questions, how to use the kettle.
  • Then came the changes in personality: the confusion, the frustration, the moments of asking about where his own parents were even though they’d died years ago.
  • Eventually, it became hard to see the man I knew, as his memories and ultimately his recognition of us faded.
It is incredibly painful to watch someone you love suffer and slowly disappear, to be here physically but gone in spirit. The reason we’ve chosen the Alzheimer’s Research UK charity is because we want to fund research to help find a cure.
