Why is this so important to me, and why should each of us pay attention to this issue? Because it is a disease that affects the entire family. When one person suffers from Alzheimer’s, the whole household suffers. Caregivers—often partners or children—perform heroic work, invisible to the world, twenty-four hours a day. I am taking part in this march to show them: "You are not alone. We see your struggle."
