Walk For A Cure - Peak District

Walking for the people I love, in memory of those they’ve lost

I’m walking for a cure with Tom, my sister-in-law Sarah, brother-in-law Matty and my oldest friend Sue.

Between them, they have all lost parents to dementia — Sarah’s mum Fiona and Sue’s dad Doug to Alzheimer’s, and Tom and Matty’s dad Kevin to frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Three people who should still be here, and three families who have experienced the heartbreak of dementia.

These are people I love, and I’ve seen first-hand the heartbreak that dementia and Alzheimer’s can cause to individuals and whole families. So I’m walking for them, and in memory of those they’ve lost.

It’s going to be a tough 26 miles (as I am not the most sporty of people!), but if we can raise even a little money towards research that could help prevent other families going through this heartbreak, it will be more than worth it.

If you can spare any pennies at all, we would be so grateful for your support. Every donation, however big or small, will help fund vital dementia research.

Thank you ❤️
