My Updates
My motivation ❤️
Sunday 19th JulI'm taking on a 5K to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK for a cause that is very close to my heart.
My grandad lives with Parkinson's disease dementia (PDD). Although it isn't Alzheimer's disease, dementia is a devastating part of both conditions. Seeing how dementia affects his everyday life has shown me just how cruel it can be—not only for the person living with it, but for everyone who loves them.
One of my biggest inspirations is my grandma, who is my grandad's primary carer. Watching her care for him with so much love, patience, and strength every single day is truly incredible. The dedication and resilience she shows never fail to amaze me.
Over the past few years, I've also faced my own health challenges. There were times when I could barely get out of bed, so the thought of completing a 5K would have felt impossible. Thankfully, my symptoms have improved a great deal, and I'm incredibly grateful to now be in a position where I can take on this challenge. Throughout those difficult times, my grandparents were among my biggest supporters, always encouraging me and being there when I needed them most. Taking part in this 5K feels like a meaningful way to give something back while supporting a cause that means so much to our family.
I'm raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK because I hope that one day there will be better treatments—and ultimately a cure—for Alzheimer's disease. Advances in dementia research have the potential to improve the lives of people affected by many forms of dementia, including Parkinson's disease dementia, giving hope to families like mine.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support vital research and bring us one step closer to a future where fewer families have to experience the heartbreak of dementia.
Thank you so much for your support. It truly means the world to me
