I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure because I want to help end the devastation of dementia.

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to finding a cure.

Research is our only chance of stopping dementia in its tracks and offering hope to the many families affected.

Your donation will fuel cutting-edge research that could uncover new life-changing treatments, bringing us closer to a cure.

Thank you for your support.

With one day to go until the big walk& having never done anything like this before or ever having fundraised i'm really happy that with support i've smashed my small fundraising target which is really keeping me motivated

I've also been kept very motivated by all the amazing stories i've seen & heard of other people doing some amazing challenges which is really inspiring me to push forward & do more myself for a variety of different good causes

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated so far & helped me smash my fundraising target..Having never fundraised before i started with a small target of raising £150 & so far i've raised £236+£30.25 Gift Aid with under 2 weeks to go which feels amazing to me

My 1st Walk for a good cause

Tuesday 7th Jul
4 months ago i had to have my 16 year old cat put to sleep due to advanced kidney disease,a decision which completely devastated me

I went down a black hole for 2 months & coming out the other side i decided to make serious changes to my life,in particular focusing on getting myself better both physically & mentally ,i also wanted to challenge myself but i wanted that challenge to be full of purpose & for a good cause

I have never personally experienced Alzheimers or dementia in my life but i have heard many stories, most of them heartbreaking with lots of inspirational stories too & i decided that my first ever charity walk would be for this cause

Having never done anything like this before i am somewhat nervous & inexperienced in how to fundraise but i am going to give 100% effort & hopefully this will be the first of many challenges for good causes
