Walk For A Cure - Peak District

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure

Sian and I are taking on a huge challenge this September: walking a full marathon distance to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s UK.

This cause is incredibly close to our hearts. Both of my grandparents were diagnosed with dementia; sadly, we lost my wonderful Grandma last March, and my Grandpa now faces the daily, heartbreaking struggles of confusion and fear. Sian’s late father-in-law was also diagnosed with vascular dementia, and today, we are watching close friends navigate the painful reality of seeing their own loved ones deteriorate from this illness.

We are walking in honor of those still fighting, and in loving memory of the wonderful people who are no longer with us.

Dementia touches so many of us—in fact, 1 in 2 people will be affected by it in their lifetime. It is a cruel and exhausting disease, not just for those diagnosed, but for the families who have to watch the people they love gradually slip away. Alzheimer’s UK is working tirelessly to find a cure, and we want to do everything we can to help them get there. We’ve already laced up our walking boots and started our intense 16-week training plan!

If you are able to support us, even with a small donation, we would be profoundly grateful. Every single pound brings us a step closer to a cure. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 🤍
