Our reason whyā€¦

Sunday 11th May
After suffering with the symptoms of Alzheimerā€™s for quite a few years our beautiful Mum was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimerā€™s Disease in June 2021 at the age of 64. Ā It was something weā€™d been expecting and as much as you feel some relief in having a diagnosis - itā€™s equally as devastating. At this point my Dad hadnā€™t retired to become her full time carer, my brother was only 21 & I was 7 months pregnant with her second grandchild.Ā 

Fast forward to May 2025 - Mum can no longer walk, have a conversation, feed herself or go to the toilet by herself. Alzheimerā€™s has stolen everything she was and let me tell you, she was and still is everything to us.

She loved taking care of me and my brother Matthew and was there whenever we needed her, going out for walks with my Dad and our dog Max who is never far from her side even now, playing with her grandchildren Elliot and Arthur and having a good laugh over pretty much anything - her laugh was the best.Ā 

Myself, my brother and my little boy Elliot will be taking part in the walk on Sunday 18th May at Harewood House. This will be Elliotā€™s third fundraiser, he loves knowing heā€™s doing something for his Nanna and other people who are going through the same thing as our family.Ā 

Myself & Matt are going to donate to the cause on the day but in the meantime any donations are very much appreciated.Ā
