I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure
"Walking for those who can't remember,
supported by a God who never forgets."
Dementia is a journey that touches the lives
of so many within our own families, our friendships, and our congregations. It
is a path often marked by challenges, but also by the incredible strength of
those who provide care and support.
As a community of friends from the Redditch
Mission Area churches, we wanted to turn our prayers into action. We are
walking to support a valued colleague and friend whose family has been deeply
touched by dementia, and to stand in solidarity with every family in our town and
beyond facing this disease.
The Mission
On Sunday 7th June 2026, our
team—the Memory Mission Walkers—will be taking part in a 5k "Walk
for a Cure" at Arrow Valley Park.
This isn't a race; it is a gathering of church
family and friends walking in hope. We are walking to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s
Research UK, supporting the scientists and specialists working to find the
first life-changing cure for dementia.
Why Your
Support Matters
Every penny raised goes directly toward
research that helps:
- Improve
Diagnosis: Finding the disease earlier to give
families more time.
- Develop
Treatments: Slowing the progression of dementia.
- Find a
Cure: Ensuring future generations don't have
to face this journey alone.
How You Can
Help
- Donate: Any
amount, large or small, makes a difference and encourages our walkers!
- Share:
Please share this page with friends and family to help us spread the word.
- Pray: Keep
our team and all those living with dementia in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for standing with us, for supporting
our friend, and for walking with us in spirit.
With love and hope,
The Memory Mission Walkers (Organized
by Kashmir Garton & Elaine Whitfield)
