Jacques/Dawber 5km Walk for Dementia

Walk For A Cure - Leeds

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure for Our amazing Dad/Grandad/Great Grandad Don

In Loving Memory of Don 💙

We are taking part in the Alzheimer’s Research UK 5K Walk in memory of our beloved dad, grandad, and great grandad, Don — a truly remarkable man who meant the world to us.

Don was everything you could hope for in a family man: kind, strong, funny, and endlessly loving. He was the heart of our family, always there with wise words, a warm smile, and a story to tell. He created memories we will cherish forever, and his presence shaped all of our lives in the most beautiful way.

Sadly, Don was diagnosed with vascular dementia, a condition caused by reduced blood flow to the brain, often following strokes or damage to blood vessels. This can lead to difficulties with memory, thinking, and everyday tasks. Watching someone so full of life slowly change is incredibly hard, not just for them, but for everyone who loves them.

That’s why we are walking.

We want to honour Don’s memory by raising awareness of vascular dementia and supporting vital research that can help find better treatments — and one day, a cure. No family should have to watch their loved one go through this.

Every step we take is for Don, and for the millions of families affected by dementia.

💙 Together, we can make a difference.

💙 Together, we can bring hope.
