I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure
Iām doing this for my beautiful mum, who was diagnosed with dementia. Sheās my best friend, and I would do anything to take this disease away from her. One of her favourite things has always been walkingāif she could, sheād walk to the end of the earth and backābut unfortunately, itās not that simple for us anymore. I miss our adventures, our late-night walks to the supermarket when it was quiet, and the little trips to buy treats we didnāt need. I miss my companionāthe person I could turn to when life felt heavy, when weād just get up and go. So Iām doing this for her. It may not be the furthest I could go, but itās a startāthe start of trying to help others in need and to make a difference for people like my mum. Out of all the charity fundraising Iāve done, this one means the most, so any contributions would be truly appreciated because this one hits home. With only a couple of weeks to go until the event, Iād really love to give this one final push and try to reach Ā£600āif not even more. Every single penny donated goes towards vital research to help find a cure for people living with dementia, like my mum. If you come across my page, I kindly ask that you consider donatingāeven Ā£1 would make a huge difference. Please donāt just do it for me, do it for my beautiful mum, who has spent her whole life loving, caring for, and supporting others. Do it in the hope that one day, families like ours wonāt have to experience the pain and heartbreak of slowly losing someone who means the world to them. Do it so that together, we can make a difference for future familiesāso they have a little more time to make memories, to fill their lives with love, and to live without the fear of being forgotten. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has already supported us and donated towards my goalāwe will be forever grateful ā¤ļø
So far, Julia has helped fund 18 hours of essential lab time for our amazing scientists.
