I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure
I’m taking part in a 5K walk for dementia and Alzheimer’s alongside my 3-year-old son, for a cause that is very close to our hearts.
Both of my Nonnas were affected by dementia—one sadly passed away, and the other is still living with the condition. My mother-in-law, my son’s grandma, has also been living with dementia for several years. As a family, we’ve seen firsthand the impact this illness has, not just on those living with it, but on everyone who loves them.
Taking part in this walk is our way of raising awareness, supporting vital research, and standing in solidarity with other families going through the same journey. It also means a lot to me to involve my son, even at such a young age, to show him the importance of kindness, compassion, and helping others.
Every step we take is for our loved ones, and for a future where fewer families have to face the heartbreak of dementia.
