I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure because I want to help end the devastation of dementia.

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to finding a cure.

Research is our only chance of stopping dementia in its tracks and offering hope to the many families affected.

Your donation will fuel cutting-edge research that could uncover new life-changing treatments, bringing us closer to a cure.

Taking My First Steps: Joining Walk For A Cure for Alzheimer’s Research UK

Sunday 12th Apr

I’ll be honest this will be my first ever walk for a cause, and I’m not entirely sure what to expect. What I do know is why I’m doing it, and that’s what matters most.

This year, I’m taking part in a walk to support Alzheimer’s research. Like so many others, I’ve seen how this condition can affect not just individuals, but entire families. Memories are such a huge part of who we are like our stories, our relationships, our everyday moments and the thought of losing them is incredibly powerful.

That’s what makes this walk feel so important.

I won’t be doing it alone either. I’ll be walking alongside a team made up of both family and friends, which makes it even more special. It’s a reminder that this isn’t something anyone has to face by themselves. There’s strength in coming together, step by step, for a shared cause.

Training-wise… let’s just say I’m working on it! But whether it’s a brisk pace or a steady stroll, every step counts.

If you’re reading this, I’d really appreciate your support, whether that’s through a donation, sharing this post, or simply cheering us on. And if you’ve ever thought about doing something like this yourself, maybe this is your sign. You don’t have to be an expert or a seasoned walker, you just got to be willing to show up.

Here’s to new experiences, meaningful causes, and walking with purpose.
