I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure
I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure because I want to help end the devastation of dementia.
Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to finding a cure.
Research is our only chance of stopping dementia in its tracks and offering hope to the many families affected.
Your donation will fuel cutting-edge research that could uncover new life-changing treatments, bringing us closer to a cure.
Thank you for your support.
So far, Tara has helped fund 11 hours of essential lab time for our amazing scientists.

Walk for a cure - Every step matters
Wednesday 29th AprThere’s something powerful about putting one foot in front of the other—especially when it’s for something bigger than yourself. A Walk for a Cure isn’t just about the distance covered; it’s about hope, community, and the belief that change is possible.
People from all walks of life come together for these events. Some walk in memory of loved ones, others in support of those currently fighting, and many simply because they want to be part of something meaningful. No matter the reason, every step carries a story.
What makes these walks so special is the sense of unity. Strangers become teammates, sharing smiles, encouragement, and sometimes even tears. There’s an unspoken understanding among participants—you’re all there for the same purpose: to raise awareness, fund research, and move closer to a cure.
Fundraising plays a huge role. Each donation, big or small, contributes to vital research, better treatments, and support for those affected. It’s not just about walking on the day—it’s about the impact that continues long after the finish line is crossed.
But beyond the cause, there’s a personal reward too. Walking for something meaningful can be incredibly grounding. It reminds you of what matters, connects you with others, and leaves you with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
A Walk for a Cure proves that change doesn’t always come from grand gestures. Sometimes, it starts with something simple—like a single step.
So whether you walk, donate, volunteer, or simply spread the word, you’re part of the journey. And together, step by step, we get closer to a cure.
