About my walk

Friday 16th May

I’m walking in memory of my grandfather, who lived with dementia before he passed away. Watching someone you love slowly fade away, not just in body but in memory and spirit, is one of the hardest things anyone can go through.

My grandfather was a kind, strong, and deeply loving man. Dementia may have taken pieces of his memory, but it never erased the love we had for him—or the person he was.

This walk is my way of honoring his life, keeping his memory alive, and standing up for everyone affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. I walk with hope that one day, no family will have to endure the heartbreak of losing someone to this disease.

Every step I take is for him and for the millions of others still fighting.
