Walk for a Cure - Cardiff

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure because I want to help end the devastation of dementia.

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to finding a cure.

Research is our only chance of stopping dementia in its tracks and offering hope to the many families affected.

Your donation will fuel cutting-edge research that could uncover new life-changing treatments, bringing us closer to a cure.

Thank you for your support.

My Updates

FTD

Sunday 13th Apr
Dementia is incredibly challenging, especially when it affects a loved one. I am participating in a charity walk to raise funds for vital research because this condition impacts my life deeply.
My wife, Jean , has Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), a neurodegenerative condition that refers to a group of brain diseases that progressively destroy nerve cells in the brain's frontal and temporal lobes. It’s an uncommon type of dementia that affects language and behavior, usually impacting individuals between the ages of 45 and 65. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for FTD. For context, Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with the same condition, highlighting its far-reaching effects.
I am heartbroken, as she is the most wonderful woman on the planet, and I know that eventually, this condition will take her away from me and our family. If we can achieve significant research results, perhaps I can be with her longer. 🤞
I am walking not only for Jean but for every individual and family affected by dementia. Your support can make a significant difference in advancing research and improving lives.
If you can donate or participate in the walk to raise funds, it would be greatly appreciated and contribute to a worthy cause.
Thank you all in advance for your support in this important fight!
