I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure in memory of my Mum
I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure because I want to help end the devastation and cruelty of dementia.
Mum left me a thousand times during her 7 year battle with dementia, and whilst I was blessed to spend her final 11 days constantly by her side, the journey to that point was devastating.
Dementia strips the very essence of a person, from intial onset of confusion and moments of lucidity, through sundowning and aggression to it basically shutting down your base functions, swallowing, walking, movement, body temperature and speech.
We need to do all we can to find a cure, so we don't lose our loved ones over and over before their physical body gives up, surviving on the most primal functions until they pass.
Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to finding a cure.
Research is our only chance of stopping dementia in its tracks and offering hope to the many families affected.
Your donation will fuel cutting-edge research that could uncover new life-changing treatments, bringing us closer to a cure.
Thank you for your support.
