Walk For A Cure - Peak District

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure

I’m taking part in this walk in memory of two incredibly important people in my life — Tony, my stepdad’s dad, who sadly passed away in 2025, and my great grandma Elizabeth, who we lost in 2009. Both of them lived with dementia, and seeing the impact of this illness on people you love is something that never really leaves you.

Dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, affects not only the individual but also their families and friends. It changes relationships, memories, and everyday life in ways that are often difficult to put into words. That’s why research into Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia is so important — to better understand the disease, improve care, and one day find a cure.

By taking part in this event, I’m hoping to raise both money and awareness. Every donation helps support vital research and provides resources for families who are navigating the challenges of dementia right now. It also helps ensure that no one has to face this journey alone.

I’m walking not just in memory of Tony and Elizabeth, but for everyone who has been affected by dementia — and for those who may be in the future. Any support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this message, truly means a lot🕊️🤍
