Walk for a Cure - Birmingham

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure because I want to help everyone who’s going through being affected by dementia whether it be yourself or a loved one.

In December, I lost my beautiful and amazing Grandma to Alzheimer’s disease. She was diagnosed just two months before her passing—far too late—due to the limited awareness and support currently available. This illness is incredibly cruel. It slowly takes away the person you love, and in doing so, breaks the hearts of everyone around them.

I hope that ongoing research leads to a cure, or at the very least, better treatments and stronger support systems—for both those affected and their families. No one should have to suffer the way she did, and no family should have to experience such a painful, confusing loss so quickly.

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to finding a cure. Research is our only chance of stopping dementia in its tracks and offering hope to the many families affected.

Thank you for your support.
