Walk for a Cure - London

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure because I want to help end the devastation of Alzhiemers disease.

My Mum, Michelle is a wonderful strong willed warrior, a mum, a Nan, a wife, a sister, a friend. Always on the go, never gave herself a minute to sit and think. Always helping everyone else. Always ready to give. Mum was diagnosed very young in her 50's. Unfortunately her diagnosis was missed and then covid hit and everything went downhill very quickly. Mum was the first we knew in our family to ever get this horrid disease. She didn't carry the gene, her DNA morphed. The professor put it down to "lifestyle". As a family we have felt so lost. It cannot be done by one person I've learnt the hard way.

I want to raise awareness for families that have never had any experience of alzhiemers/dementia in there family. I want there to be places for us to go. People for us to talk to and share our heartbreak with. I want there to be enough resources out there for the familes that choose to care for their loved ones at home24/7. I want options to be available.

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to finding a cure.

Research is our only chance of stopping dementia in its tracks and offering hope to the many families affected.

Your donation will fuel cutting-edge research that could uncover new life-changing treatments, bringing us closer to a cure.

Thank you for your support.
