Walking for a cure for my Dad
Friday 26th JunI am proud to be fundraising for Alzheimer's Research UK at Carsington Water, Peak District .
This is a cause close to my heart because nearly 16years ago my father, Tony, was diagnosed with dementia. Since then we have slowly watched him disappear to the disease. He no longer recognises his family, which is heart-breaking, especially now, as recently he has become a Great Grandad but sadly he will never get to know, or at least remember, he gorgeous little Great Grandson.
Unless we act now, one in three people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime. Almost 1 million people are living with dementia today, tragically not one of them will survive.
