Walk For A Cure - Anywhere

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure

I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure because I want to help end the devastation of dementia.

My dad is in a care home for dementia and I see the effects daily with him and fellow residents and I want to help support future generations avoid the impact on both the person and their families and help towards finding a long term cure.

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to finding a cure.

Research is our only chance of stopping dementia in its tracks and offering hope to the many families affected.

Your donation will fuel cutting-edge research that could uncover new life-changing treatments, bringing us closer to a cure.

Thank you for your support.

My Updates

Huge thank you!

Sunday 31st May
A massive thank you to all those who so kindly sponsored my heatwave 4.3 mile walk! I am so grateful to you all and every donation really does help us find a future cure! 🙏

🏆 MISSION ACCOMPLISHED & TARGET SMASHED! 🧡

Sunday 24th May
On Sunday, 24th May, I laced up my boots and took on the Walk for a Cure in the blistering 26°C heatwave! To push myself even further for my dad, I extended my route and ended up walking a massive 4.3 miles (nearly 7km) across bumpy Buckinghamshire fields. This time last year, before I embarked on my own health journey and lost 27kg, a distance like this in the heat would have been impossible. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far—with 1 in 3 people set to develop dementia in their lifetime, your support for Alzheimer's Research UK is vital for all of our futures. Let's keep pushing to smash that £100 target! 🏃‍♂️☀️

Heatwave walking!

Friday 22nd May
The UK heatwave has begun and with my walked planned for this Sunday of the late May bank holiday weekend, looking like a potential 30 degrees heat for my 5km walk so prepared with a shorter walk today in 26 degrees heat to build up to the big day! Water, sunhat, sunglasses and sun cream at the ready!

May Bank Holiday Walking Planned!

Sunday 17th May
I have planned my at least 5km walk end of May bank holiday weekend! Exciting to be raising funds for such an important cause in the sunshine! 🌞

Cycling hard!

Saturday 16th May
Been training hard on my static bike achieving over 12km in just over 30 mins whilst also fighting my own Diabetes Diagnosis only a year ago! 💪

Training Update: Ruts, Resilience, and Research

Thursday 14th May
I’ve been out practicing in the local farmer's fields, and it’s been a proper challenge! Navigating the deep tractor ruts and uneven ground is a workout for the legs, but it’s all worth it.
I’m taking on these bumpy paths for all those who can’t—especially the residents at my dad's care home and families like ours who face the daily impact of dementia. Every step on this tricky terrain is a step toward a cure.
I’ve officially mapped my route for the Bank Holiday weekend, and I’m ready to smash that 5k (and likely more!). Thank you for the incredible support so far—it keeps me moving through the ruts!

Navigating my route

Monday 11th May
Made a strong start today spending 40 minutes walking and planning my route in Buckinghamshire.
Walked 2.79km and 3913 steps in that time and feeling good about the further progress I can make to achieve a 5km walk.
Thank you to my sponsors as with your help, will be wearing my Alzheimer's Research T-shirt for my main Walk for a Cure!
