Hi everyone,

This year I’m taking part in a fundraising walk for dementia. I’m 17, and this will actually be my first ever fundraiser walk, so it means a lot to me to be doing it for such an important cause.

Someone very close to our family, who we love so much, is living with dementia. Seeing how it affects them and everyone around them has really made me realise how tough this illness can be — not just for the person, but for their whole family.

I’ve also seen more awareness about dementia through TV programmes and social media, and it’s made me want to do something positive and give back in any way I can. I know so many families are going through this, and I just wanted to show my support and help raise money to make a difference.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you so much for your support — it honestly means a lot.
