Memory Of Nana and Gran

Monday 29th Apr
We lost both our nana and gran to Parkinsons related Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia with Alzheimer's.

Nothing could have prepared us at the start of the illness to how drastic and devastating the changes the illness would bring to them both. 

Both had once been active, funny, bubbly and loving woman but the disease not only robbed them of  these but there memories and personalities. 

Both ended up unable to recognise any of the family caring for them or even themselves in the end. 

It's a devastating illness we wouldn't want anyone we know to experience the heartbreak we did fighting the deterioration it causes.
