I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure
Hi my name is Katie, my sister Amy and I are taking part in Walk For A Cure because every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.
In 2020 my grandad Alfred Newman got sadly diagnosed with dementia. Me and my family didn’t realise how fast it would change all of our lives. My grandad is such a extraordinary man, who would do anything for his friend's and family. He would never fail to make us laugh. Especially with his fake girlfriend’s “fefe lebloncè” on the side when my grandma used to go to the dancing. Me and my sister amy used to spend every single summer with my grandad and grandma with trips in the caravan. I have made magical memories that will last a lifetime. My grandad is my hero and watching him slowly loose himself to dementia has been hard on my whole family.
Dementia is a dreadful disease that affects friend’s and loved ones.
Me and my sister Amy would love to raise money to hopefully find a cure to stop this horrible disease.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated
