Walk for a Cure - Sefton Park, Liverpool

We're taking part in Walk For A Cure

We're taking part in Walk For A Cure because every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.

Alzheimer's Research UK are the UK's leading dementia research charity. They exist for a cure.

Your donation helps scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.

My Updates

In Memory of Grandma Irene.

Wednesday 22nd May
Me, my fiance Sam and my son Alvie 19 months old will be doing this walk to help raise funds for this amazing charity in memory of his Grandma in hope of a cure as we are one of many families affected that have had a family member diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Sam's Grandma Irene Williams who has now sadly passed away.
Irene had lived an amazing life lived to the age of 93 years old. She was always the life and soul of any room she was in. Full of life and humour and now is living and dealing with this awful disease.
Its so heartbreaking going in to the home where she now lives to visit an see her as even though she still has her whitty humour ways its not nice to see that she doesn't know what is going on some days or who we are. Sam misses his grandma and the relationship they once had, as do all of the family she created and brought into this world. All of those times are now just a memory, but the love for her will still always last. The heartbreaking thing is it doesn't just affect the person diagnosed, it affects their family and friends too.. and we are one of those many families in the world that is affected by this awful disease and we need to find a cure by raising funds for research to be done, and hopefully one day we will have a cure or something to help live with it a bit better.
