Reality

All of us have crossed the path of dementia at some point in our lives. Whether a relative or friend or someone your relative or friend knows. It’s never too far away. 
Seeing someone fade away and become a shell is a cruel scene to watch unfold, but people hang onto the hope that one day they will remember just the slightest thing- until this day never happens. 
It’s not just the memory of events and recognition for people dementia affects. If you have been close to someone with this diagnosis you will see how it physically robs aswel as mentally. Not remembering “how” to walk, “how” to chew, “how” to swallow or “how” to hold your bladder are the very real situations that come hand in hand with a dementia diagnosis. 
Sometimes the ugly truth needs laying bare for people to see it’s not just a diagnosis of memory loss but a debilitating disease which will result in death. 
Donating for a cure might not help the loved ones you have witnessed suffer through this but maybe the next generation will stand a better chance! 
Let’s walk for a cure!!!!!
