Walking for a Cure: For My Grandmother and Everyone Affected by Dementia

Some journeys are about more than just distance. This year, I’ll be taking part in Walk for a Cure – London, not just as a personal challenge, but as a tribute to someone incredibly special to me—my grandmother.

Dementia is a cruel disease. It doesn’t just steal memories; it takes away moments, connections, and the essence of the person we love. Watching my grandmother battle this condition has been heartbreaking. Some days, she remembers my name and shares stories from years ago. Other days, those memories slip away, leaving only confusion and frustration in their place.

No one should have to go through this—yet millions of people and their families are facing this painful reality every day. That’s why I’m walking.

By supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK, we’re funding vital research that could lead to better treatments and, one day, a cure. Every step I take is for my grandmother and for every person affected by dementia today and in the future.
