Walk for a Cure - Edinburgh, Holyrood Park

We're taking part in Walk For A Cure

We're taking part in Walk For A Cure because every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.

Alzheimer's Research UK are the UK's leading dementia research charity. They exist for a cure.

Your donation helps scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.

Why I’m walking

Tuesday 30th Apr

Hi my name is Amy,  my sister Katie and I are walking for our grandad Alfred Newman.
My Grandad got diagnosed with dementia a few years ago and I didn’t realise how fast it would change all of our lives. My Grandad is an amazing caring man who would constantly make us all laugh and would do anything for his family or friends, When I was younger I would spend most summers with my grandad and grandma getting told the most ridiculous jokes or spending evenings hunting in the garden for beasties with my grandad, I’ve made memories with him that will last a lifetime. Watching him slowly lose himself to this disease has been hard on my whole family.
Dementia is an awful disease that affects friends and loved ones.
I would like to raise money to hopefully find a cure to stop this horrible disease,
Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
