I'm taking part in Walk For A Cure because my Dad has Alzheimer's and every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.

Time to stop losing people
Friday 14th Jun Alzheimer's steals people away, people we love, robbing them of their memories, their connection to loved ones and even of their personalities. People like my dad - articulate, passionate, interested, and, until very recently, very active. His life, filled with active involvement in good things, seems a distant memory. That's what Alzheimer's has done to him in a few short years. As reliant on others as a small child now, it's a tragedy to see him so reduced.
