Nanny B

Walk for a Cure - London

We're taking part in Walk For A Cure

For Nanny B- Our Light In The Dark

In 2018, our beautiful Nanny B was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Before her diagnosis, she was a strong, dedicated woman—devoted to her work and loyal to her family. She had this way of making any room feel warmer just by walking into it. That heart-warming smile of hers still lights up our lives, even on the toughest days.

Since the diagnosis, things have changed rapidly. Alzheimer’s has taken so much from her. Her condition has deteriorated to the point where she’s now bed bound, and even simple things like eating and drinking have become difficult. It’s been heartbreaking to witness someone so full of life slowly fade in front of us.

My mum, Lisa, is now her full-time carer—a role she’s taken on with so much strength and love. But no matter how strong we try to be, the truth is, it’s hard. We’re a close-knit family, and watching someone we love suffer like this is something no one should have to go through.

That’s why me and louise have decided to take part in the 5km walk in support of Alzheimer’s awareness and research. It’s a small step, but every step counts. We’re walking for Nanny B, and for all the families out there going through the same thing.

Any donation—big or small—means the world to us. Thank you for supporting us on this journey.

We love you, Nanny B. Always❤️

We're taking part in Walk For A Cure because every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.

Alzheimer's Research UK are the UK's leading dementia research charity. They exist for a cure.

Your donation helps scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.
