Walk for a Cure - London

Walking for Claudette – In Honour, In Memory, In Hope

Almost eight months ago, my beloved mother, Claudette, passed away after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Her loss has left an irreplaceable void in our lives—but her light, her kindness, and her unforgettable spirit continue to shine through every memory, every story, and every smile she shared with us.

Claudette was so much more than a mother. She was a teacher, a sister, a friend, an aunty, and an absolute blessing to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Whether you had just met her or had known her for decades, she had a way of making you feel seen, valued, and completely at ease. Her warmth was immediate, and her generosity unmatched.

On June 8th, we will be walking as part of Walk for a Cure, not only to honour her memory but also to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s and dementia. This walk is about doing our part—no matter how small—to support vital research and help move toward a future where fewer families have to watch a loved one fade away.

This walk is especially meaningful for me because it's taking place at Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally)—a place Mum would take me to often as a child. I can still feel her presence there, hear her laughter, and see her beaming smile as we walked those same paths together. It feels like the perfect place to remember her and to carry her memory forward.

To everyone who has supported us—thank you. Your kindness, your donations, and your encouragement mean the world. This journey is a hard one, but knowing we’re not alone makes it just a little bit easier.

Let’s walk for Claudette.
Let’s walk for all those we’ve lost.
Let’s walk for hope.

We're taking part in Walk For A Cure

We're taking part in Walk For A Cure because every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.

Alzheimer's Research UK are the UK's leading dementia research charity. They exist for a cure.

Your donation helps scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.
