Hike for a Cure - Peak District

We're taking part in Walk For A Cure

From a young age I figured out if I claimed to be “poorly” I’d get a day off school and I’d get to go to my grandmas where I’d make a miraculous recovery, we’d go for ice cream in the park and spend the afternoon baking! I owe a lot of what I’ve built today to my grandma, as do the rest of my family for many of their attributes. She was one of those proper grandma’s that fed you 3 square meals before midday!

In September my mum and I will be walking 21km in memory of my grandma to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research. We know firsthand how cruel it is and want to do our bit to help find a cure.

I see frequently in the cafe many of you with loved ones as you try to navigate this disease, I hope we offer you some respite however brief but we all know it’s a cure we need.

If you are able to donate please do, it would be so greatly appreciated. If not simply share our fundraising page to help us on our way.

My mum and sister both have Alzheimer’s, my sister’s is complex PCA, your story of your grandma made me cry. This is wonderful what you are doing and happy to donate towards research and hopefully someday a cure.
