About the Event

Registration

Registration is now open for Pontcanna Fields! Be part of something special and secure your space for free today.

Aim to raise £150 or more and make a vital difference in helping us find a cure for dementia for all future generations.

Route

Enjoy a beautiful walk alongside the River Taff with this lovely 5km circular route. Experience a tranquil oasis in the heart of Cardiff as you follow the park’s scenic trails and cross the finish line to claim your well-deserved medal.

Accessibility

The fully signposted route has a mixture of hardstanding and woodland paths. The full route is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, however, it does cross a bridge passing over fast flowing water. We will provide a diversion for those that this isn't suitable for.

For more information on accessibility and Walk For a Cure, please visit our FAQs.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead at all times.

Facilities

There are public toilets available close to the event village (including accessible loos) and rest-stops along the walk to support you if needed.

Food and drink will be available to purchase within the event village and you are welcome to bring your own refreshments.

How to get here

Cardiff Central Railway Station is the main station into the city and a 30-minute walk to the event village. There are also bus routes available which stop nearby.

Countdown to our Cardiff event

“I couldn’t recommend this walk enough for families young and old! We chatted, played with the kids and enjoyed being out in the fresh air for a change. It’s one of the easiest ways to give back to yourself, your mental health and your physical wellbeing.”

– Hat Hewitt, walked in memory of her mum who had dementia.
